Akasha Mountain Retreat offers picturesque Cape-Maroc style accommodation in a serene, private setting with spectacular panoramic views over the Langeberg & secluded Duiwenhoks Dam. Situated just 12km north of Heidelberg & the N2 - an ideal off-grid location in which to ‘disconnect from digital & reconnect with nature.’

Welcome To Akasha

Day trips within a 70km radius are tailored to clients’ fields of interest and interweave local history, myths & legends with the best that Hessequa has to offer. The retreat is solar-powered and fully equipped for self-catering, with a resident chef ‘on call’. Outdoor activities include guided or DIY hikes, horse encounters, mountain biking, farm-dam fishing for kids, stargazing, music-making & meditation. Creativity is engendered by beginners’ lessons in music, songwriting, art & photography plus advanced tuition in fingerstyle guitar techniques.

The house is absolutely beautiful, not to mention the breathtaking view. It was such a blessing to be here and experience the beauty of nature. Thank you for all your hospitality and making us feel so welcomed, we’ll definitely be back soon!

Highlights include viewing the splendour of the overflowing dam, waking up to the sound of horses trotting outside the window and the sheer unspoilt beauty & serenity.

We were greeted by the most spectacular view and most wonderful host. Our hike with Chris was truly something special, where we were able to appreciate the beauty of nature up close. This place is like a massage for my soul! We will definitely be back, and then for a few days longer, because we can’t get enough of this place of ultimate relaxation.
